About Me
My name is Alissa Dincau. I live in Santa Clarita, CA with my husband Darel and our four beautiful children. Our oldest son Joshua is fourteen years old, our daughter Brittany is eight, our son William is five, and our youngest son Tristan is two. We also have a dog named Luke. I have been working with young children and their families for over eighteen years now. I worked as a nanny for two years. I worked as an infant/toddler teacher in a childcare center for five years and as a preschool teacher for three years. I ran a licensed family childcare in my home from January of 2002 until September of 2008. I have been a postpartum doula since August of 2005. I am trained in pregnancy, birth, postpartum, childbirth education and early childhood development. I have received my postpartum doula training and certification through CAPPA. I have been involved with La Leche League since 2001. I have over twenty college units in child development and I have been certified in CPR and First Aid for the last eighteen years. I have completed a background clearance and a Child Abuse Central Index check through the Department of Justice. I have experience in caring for twins and I have professional as well as personal experience in caring for preemies. Two of my sons spent time in the NICU after they were born and one was sent home on an apnea monitor. I am happy to say, they are both now perfectly healthy.
